Elizabeth Sikes
Vice Chair
Elizabeth
(Beth) Sikes grew up in Blountsville, Alabama. She graduated from High
School at J.B. Pennington High and the University of Alabama with a B.S.
in Education, majoring in Library Science. She is married to Wayne
Sikes, a Georgia Tech alumnus. Beth and Wayne have three children,
Christy, Jay and Megan.
Beth worked for five years as information specialist at Sequoyah High
School and retired after 30 years owner/director of Sikes Schools, Inc.,
Wolf Creek Camp and Wolf Creek Challenge. Currently, she is a realtor
with Virtual Properties.
She has served as an advocate for adults with disabilities; a member of
the Gwinnett/Newton/Rockdale Mental Health, Mental Retardation &
Substance Abuse Board; served on Gwinnett County Budget Review
Committee; Gwinnett County Jury Commissioner and Consumer Advocate; and
WSB Radio, Clark Howard Consumer Action Center.
Inducted into the Rotary Club of Gwinnett-Sunrise (Snellville) in 1992,
she served as Program Chair, On to Conference Chairman, GRSP
Representative, Vice President and President 1995-96. Appointed to GRSP
in 1996, she has served as Trustee, 1996-2002, District Chair for 6910,
2002-2008, Office Committee, 2002-present, Vice Chair 2008-present,
Oslo/Germany Scholarship Committee, 2002-2008 and host family for seven
students. She is a Will Watt Fellow, Hue Thomas Fellow, Kendall Weisiger
Fellow and Ronnie Waller Fellow.
Hobbies include enjoys reading, yoga, photography, travel and gardening.
