Resolution
Dennis T. Still
Dennis is
Chair Emeritus of the Georgia Rotary Student Program which includes
Rotary International Districts 6900, 6910, and 6920.
He served as a Line Trustee of the GRSP from1992 to 1996, as
District 6910 Vice Chairman of GRSP from 1996 to 1999, and as First Vice
Chairman of GRSP from 1999 to 2003. He led the Georgia Rotary Student
Program as Chair from 2003 to 2008. He was Chairman of the 1991 Georgia
Rotary Student Program Conclave hosted by the Gwinnett Rotary Clubs.
Dennis has been the host family for several GRSP students.
The Dennis Still GRSP Scholarship Fund was established by the
Rotary Club of Snellville in honor of his service and commitment to
GRSP. He is a Will Watt Fellow, a
Hue Thomas Fellow, a Kendall Weisiger Fellow and a benefactor of the
Georgia Rotary Student Program.
Dennis was
inducted into the Rotary Club of South Gwinnett in 1982. He was
President Elect when in 1990 he resigned to become Charter President of
the Rotary Club of Snellville. The Rotary Club of Snellville was named
Small Club of the Year in District 6910 for each of the first five
years. He became a Charter
Member of the Rotary Club of Braselton in 2003.
PDG Bob
Miller named Dennis as one of the first group of District Lt. Governors
in 1993-1994. During the 1993-1994 academic year Dennis had the pleasure
of serving as counselor to the Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholars
from District 6910 studying in
England and
France. He has
served on several Rotary District 6910 Committees, including Chairman of
District Club Service Committee, the District Board of Trustees and the
District Long Range Planning Committee. Dennis
serves as Rotary District 6910 Parliamentarian and Administration
Director. Dennis received the District 6910 Lee Arringdale Vocational
Excellence Award in 2006.
Dennis is a Paul Harris Fellow (with three sapphires) and a benefactor
of the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International.
He is
trustee of the Gwinnett County Law Library, past president of the
Gwinnett County Bar Association, past master of Lawrenceville Masonic
Lodge No. 131, and an Elder in the Presbyterian Church. Dennis is a
graduate of the University of Georgia and Woodrow Wilson College of Law.
He is an
Attorney at Law in general practice with the firm of Garner and Still in
Lawrenceville,
Georgia. Dennis has served as the
City Attorney for Dacula since 1979. He
has served as the Chief Judge of the Municipal Court of the City of
Lawrenceville since 1980, a member of the Georgia Commission on
Interpreters and three terms Chairman of the Municipal Court Judges
Training Council of Georgia.
Dennis is
married to Elaine Sims Still who is a Business Education Teacher at
Mill
Creek
High School. They
have one son, Daniel, who is a Georgia Tech graduate and computer
programmer.
