Kerry Arnold – District 6900

I have been involved in the Georgia Rotary Student Program (GRSP) ever since I became a Rotarian 20 years ago. My wife, Cindy and I have been a host family; I have served as a GRSP Trustee for the past five years and am honored to serve as the District 6900 Chair. Although Cindy and I have only 2 biological children, we have extended family across the globe thanks to our involvement in the program.

James McCoy –  District 6910

The Georgia Rotary Student Program is the embodiment of the mission and purpose of Rotary with a central focus on promoting international understanding and peace. For seventy five years GRSP has facilitated thousands of lifelong relationship between Rotarians, their families and students from every part of the world. I have had the privilege of being a host family to multiple students and GRSP Trustee working with five host Rotary Clubs that sponsor students annually. It is remarkable to see first hand how GRSP creates life altering opportunities for international students and expands the global relationships of Rotarians. GRSP creates a real and meaningful difference for both students and Rotarians – It has become a central part of life for me and my family.

Rob Kellner – District 6920

Upon my arrival at Valdosta State in 1983, I became aware of the Georgia Rotary Student Program and was intrigued with the program.  In 1999, I joined Rotary and had the opportunity to get involved with the program and begin to understand how unique and special this program is.  I have met numerous students over the past twenty years that have become lifelong friends and I enjoy the opportunity to rekindle these friendships when I travel abroad or they return to Georgia for a visit. The generosity of the Georgia Rotarians either through their willingness to become a host family, serve as a host for one of the weekend get togethers or simply through financial contributions coupled with eagerness of the students create a special environment where all parties involved benefit.   The parties benefit by breaking down walls and eliminating the stereotypes that are often portrayed in the media. I cannot think of a better program to invest my time and energy than the Georgia Rotary Student Program and its goal of “Peace through Understanding.”
